The only reason I think he would opt out is if they give him a longer term deal with less $ per year. Sort of how everyone thought was the plan with them and Horford or what the Kings did with Barnes.

He is scheduled to make 34 million next year and his value is at a all time low so I don't see why he would do that or why Boston would give him longterm $

It was a joke, it's not like I would expect him or anyone to ever be like "yeah I'm actually *** now and I don't deserve all this money you're gonna pay me"

For me, it’s 3 things:

1. He will not $34 Mil from anyone in THIS economy.
2. Versatile Wing Players are in demand
3. Teams are already taking a significant loss/hit in revenue due to Corona, which means it’s very possible and likely that salary cap will be lower next season.

Even if he wanted to, it makes too much to wait until next year and see what the numbers look like and how the league bounces back as far as revenue goes.
