Re: 3/23 - 4/10 Games Discussion Thread

Maybe its old school outdated way of thinking, but I like Boston out of the east because of defense. Again I could be wrong/using outdated thinking but great defense wins out over a 7 game series.

Nets are a wildcard. With Simmons yet to see the floor I'm definitely not as high on their chances as I was immediately after the trade. Celtics vs Bucks will decide the east imo. Just dont know if that series will be the ECF or before.

Out west I really have no idea. I think the top 3 are clearly above the rest of the field, if GS is healthy which is a huge if. I don't know who I would pick out of a Suns-Griz series. On the one hand it almost seems scripted that these playoffs could be Ja's coronation. But Griz are also a young team and Ja's J still lags behind the other parts of his game. The schemes to stop players always goes up a few notches in the playoffs.

Most these guys are returning so I wasn’t shocked really that they could all play because I saw the random guys like Konchar and Tillman kill it last year, but all of Ja, Bane, Melton, and Jackson improved from last year. Clarke went back to looking like the guy he was a couple years ago, Anderson back to the bench where he should be, and Adams couldn’t be a more perfect fit for what they needed and Ja pairs with him just as well as Russ did. Maybe even better given Ja has a bit more patience.

Melton deserves tons of praise. He’s started in place of Bane, Brooks, and Ja at times this year. When everyone talks about next man up with this team he’s really been that glue guy holding it together. And Jones is just one of the best backup guards in the league. Very very low mistake type of player even if he doesn’t post the big numbers.

I would say Brooks is the one guy you kinda take the good with the bad. There are times his shot selection is rough, he’s a very confident and cocky guy who just plays like he’s better then what he is.. but at the same time he will bust his *** for 48 minutes taking on every team in the leagues best player. I can always respect that, and when he does have it going at the other end he’s a 2-way stud.. Bane has picked up a lot of good habits from him in terms of playing hard at both ends and never giving up on plays.

A guy from work took his kid to the game tonight. Would have been a great game to go to. Home team wins, monster nights from Kyrie and KD. I’m sure the atmosphere was great.
I'm not saying this as hyperbole, but if the Lakers had Tyus Jones instead of Russ I think that we would have 10 more wins.

It seems like Butler was threatening to "fight" Spo.

We still using Russ as the scapegoat?

He hasn't made the team better or solved the problems they somehow thought he would, but their problems go way beyond him.

Yes, the problems do go way beyond him, but his poor shooting, decision making, and lack of defense has been absolutely crushing in so many games.

True but a 10 game swing is pretty large. Tyus would have an expanded role with the Lakers. He'd go from 20 mpg to 30ish. Its reasonable to expect some drop off in efficiency to go along with that. And like already mentioned, everyone on Memphis plays their role great. When everyone on a team plays their role well, it makes everyone look better. How often do we see role players on championship caliber teams go elsewhere and once they do they don't look nearly as good or as much of a difference maker?

I have to say. That was an extended fight. I loved every moment of it. Just a "Heated" conversation lol.

I make fun of Haslem, but unless Spo was out of line then that's not the worst way to handle that situation. Jimmy has been "difficult" in other teams and someone might need to check him.
