New to PES: Which game should I buy?

I'm a big fan of FIFA and have purchased FIFA 10, World Cup, 11, and now 12. I love FIFA but I am interested in trying out PES as well and either playing both or sticking with the one I like more.

I have the demo for PES 2011 on my PS3 and I like it, but obviously I'm assuming that 12 is better, or that 2010 would suit my needs because I'm just starting out.

My question is: should I get 10 because it's way cheaper used just to try it out,

or should I just buy 11 or 12 used? (11 and 12 are basically the same price used at gamestop so whichever one is better I would get)

Which game do you guys prefer/enjoy the most?

I would definitely NOT buy pes 2010. It felt really stiff to me. Not enough free flowing movements. PES 2011 was my game of choice last year (this year FIFA was my game). It introduced more active AI movements and this year it built upon that. I would just get 2012. It's a solid game.

Definitely agree about 2010. Stay away from it.

Pes12 is a must buy.Do you have a capable pc also?If so, then get it for this platform.
A mini review what pes12 is imo:
+ Individuality of players/teams
+ Random goal chances/incidents and goals
+ 2 options of slow speed game (-1,-2)
+ Build-up play
+ Cpu/Teammates AI is very good
+ Cpu AI backpasses when you defend with success
+ Cpu changes tactics on the fly
+ Off ball player control.Especially on fouls/corners is a must feature.
+ Decent amount of fouls
+ Cpu shoots outside the area.
+ Feels and plays like real football in almost all areas.
+ Master League/BaL are deep and addictive.

- Gk's have questionable reactions at times (It's improved with the official patches, it's almost perfect with jenkey's tool on pc)
- Some floaty shots here and there (completely fixed again with jenkey's tool)
- Cpu above pro difficulty will sometimes "script cheat" (Fixed on pc).
- Some animations are still stiff.

PES 2011 was my game of choice, now it's FIFA 12 this year for me. PES 2012 is improved from 2011, but aspects are flatout broken (shooting, goalkeepers).

Re: New to PES: Which game should I buy?

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I picked up PES 2012 used at gamestop for $27 so I could try it out and then return it if necessary.

I played about 6 games yesterday, and I like it a lot. It's different than fifa obviously but not in bad ways, at least not to me. In many ways I like the overall gameplay better, it seems more unpredictable or organic.
Maybe I've played fifa 12 too much, but it seems like I can see every shot, tackle, etc. happen before it does, because the same few things always play out. I haven't felt that yet in pes, and don't think I will.

I am not going to keep 2012, though. I figure it doesn't make any sense to pay close to $30 for 2012 when the 2013 games are right around the corner. I'll just wait and decide between FIFA and PES 13 when they arrive.
