The skating feel of the players in FIFA is definitely something that is bothersome, from what I've seen thus far though it looks much much better, even on the current gen but until the demo drops however I'm going to reserve any judgement.

Well I think FIFA has always been better at the individual aspect of football, but what I love about PES is that it usually represents the actually flow of a match much better. That's what I'm looking for from FIFA next-gen.

Obviously we'll see, but I doubt anything is going to change in that department with FIFA next-gen. As with their Madden franchise, EA understands the vast majority of gamers aren't looking for a sim experience, they're wanting an easy and FUN pick-up-and-play representation of the sport. My guess is EA will be sticking with the same FIFA gameplay formula that's made them billions.

Re: PES 2014 Gameplay

Movement looks pretty smooth considering this is the first year of a new engine, although I did notice a few times when changes of momentum looked a little stiff. And the player models don't really blow me away. I think when PES hits next-gen it's really going to shine. For now I'll just pray that PES 2014 plays realistically.

Looks really solid. I am loving the build up play. The CPU actually kicked the ball back to the GK, I feel like I haven't seen that since PES 6.

This looks pretty good, I plan on getting a soccer game for the PC this year so we'll see which one takes the cake.

Something in PES 2014 that I've never seen in a video football game ever: CPU players come to a full stop, and stand and survey the pitch before dribbling or passing. This a huge programming addition as far as CPU buildup and overall gameplay realism goes. You can see it in this video, 6:54-6:58 mark:

EDIT: Before I make a total fool of myself, I'm assuming that's User vs CPU gameplay! Looks like it based on what I see with the player icons.
