What formation do you use

Was wondering what formations everyone uses, I was considering running some variation of a 4-4-2 like a 4-2-2-2 or 4-3-1-2 for Arsenal, it's tough because they have so much midfield talent but I am not sure if I like just using one striker. Coming from Fifa so I haven't ventured into the different tactics settings yet so one striker may be really good since you can change how your team plays while in possession.

I use to be Anti two two strikers up front, because I just see it as old fashion and not progressive. But I recently played a lot with Juve who I was using a midfield diamond with Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba & Marchiso with Morata & Tevez up front and I loved it.

But no way I could every play a standard 4-4-2, thats so English football to me, and I think they are like 10 years behind the rest of Europe tactically, thats why they don't perform well in any European competition.

traditionally I'm a 4-2-3-1 kind of guy. either 2 CDM or 1 CM & 1 CDM playing next to each other with the CM being the more attacking player & CDM more stationary, with a CAM, LM, RM & Striker.

Re: What formation do you use

I tested out a 4-1-2-3 and a compacted 4-2-3-1 last night with Lyon and had a little more success with the 3 up top

4-2-3-1 is my preferred and fallback formation. I like having a CAM to help out the striker and a CDM to help out the back 4. Wide players to send in crosses if I have a target man or pinch them close if I have a fast attacker for the counter.

I really like 3 in the back though with either wing backs or 2 CDMs in front. That's my go to Italian formation.
