How much better is PES 2017 than PES 2016?

So I wanted to wait until the game was out and the honeymoon period was over before even thinking about getting PES2017, but I caved today and downloaded the demo. I've had fun with it, but haven't been as blown away as most of the people who have commented in the impressions thread.

Even so, I called a local mom and pop store today here in New York City to see if they had the game early. And, of course, they did (the one year I don't know if I want it early).

So my question to those who have had extensive play time with the demo? Is PES2017 that much better than PES2016 that it warrants a purchase? I like the goalkeepers' improvements and the fact that there are some fouls now, but the computer doesn't take very many shots and I've seen a few pinball-like own goals in the handful of matches I've played on the demo.

Your feedback is appreciated, as I'm seriously weighing whether to go pick this up tomorrow morning.

Go for it, man. The demo is fantastic, and from the full-game streams I viewed, it's a significant upgrade from PES 16.

AI is much smarter and versitile, goalkeepers are actually making saves and referees are awake this time. A good improvement over 2016.

I have played the demo way too much to see the good and bad of it and it still keeps me wanting to play it every night. It is definitely much more improved than Pes 16 and it has finally been able to give many of us the PES feeling that has been missing for so long.

Get it. I was one that was ticked 16 got such high praise with all the issues it had and was scared they would rest and not improve the next edition, but after playing the 17 demo and watching the stream yesterday from the full game, I am on board for 17. Just waiting till Tuesday and for the MLS option file to be completed and I am set.

What about FOULS? Did the developers remember that fouls are a part of the game (for both human & CPU) or is that still amiss?

There are definitely fouls and it is pretty varied. Fouls can occur when two people attempt a ball mid-air to an errant elbow or forearm to a players face.
