It's probably the attack/defense levels.

It is the defence levels, you notice it more with teams that go from orange/blue as you have teams going from one extreme to another in attack in defence.

I plugged these in for a match tonight before trying the FIFA trial, and I have to say you've got a great start here Matt. I played as Leipzig vs. Dortmund on Top Player and it was by far the best game I've played thus far on the game. Actually I could barely play a game at all before this so I'd been playing online. I had trouble sprinting with the ball and stringing passes together which was nice because it will force myself to be creative. Something that didn't feel needed before these adjustments. Well done! As always I look forward to your FIFA sliders and also adjustments you make with this game.

great work as always Matt, been following your work for a while now both on PES and FIFA.

I'll definitely be giving these a go. One question though, did you make any other tweaks to limit the computer long ball / through ball spamming or is that video a result of the previous tweaks you made? (deeper/congested formations and FB tracking)

Thanks for giving them a go. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. That was the goal, man, just trying to get this game playable offline. Good point about having to string passes and less sprinting. I mean how often do you see teams IRL dribbling as much as they do in PES? Unheard of.

If there is an actual definite way to get this the best it can be, I don't mind being the one to do it. Did it last year for the 5-second fix for all teams except National teams and it took about 3 hours max. This may take a bit longer though, which is why I'm still holding out hope that User side only adjustments may be possible. Still testing of course.
