Re: Difficulty level - Exhibition v Master League

Hello, guys, new here.
Roswell is very right at what he is writing in the previous post. The game is...a game, it's only code, it is a combination of "if...then..." orders. This is not a reason to get disappointed. All games are like that. Also, in football games, "scripting" is a very common word used by people, who mean that the game has pre-decided what will happen. This is not the case. Very often, the game, the AI of the game, takes some decisions, based on various data, which can be individual statistics, team statistics, team spirit in ML, the quality or difference in stars of the two opponents (us and the AI controlled team). Also, other things are calculated, like a match being a derby between rivals, a match being very important for a team, who struggles to avoid relegation or a team who is after the championship. There are times, when the data are against us, so the game becomes "unfair", not giving us a goal we deserve, but this can also work in our favour (especially when we build a stronger team).
Then we come to the difficulty level: here is where the AI becomes more strict or more unforgiving. To me, the most realistic level this year (and last year) is the Top Player, because it is very challenging and at the same time it gives you what you deserve (whereas the Superstar becomes too unfair, thus not pleasant, in various cases, although it all depends also on the skill of the user).
Try to do this: play a game in ML, do not save, and then play it again. You will see different things and probably a different result. Also, different users will play differently and bring different results, playing the same game, under the same difficulty level.
Yes, there are scripted parts in the code, but that does not mean we cannot do anything to prevent or to beat the AI. And yes, this year the AI plays very nice football and it doesn't make the user mad, like in some previous versions (Pes18,19).
A football game cannot exist without some scripting and, in any case, if the AI didn't have any advantages, we would usually win and we would lose interest too soon. Balance is the magic word and this year things are fine.
