Franchise Mode: Madden V.S NFL 2K3

This isn't a thread to debate which game/mode is better but rather to compare what each game has to offer regarding its franchise mode.

Now, I'm playing 2K3 and haven't really played Madden's franchise mode since the 2001 game. I had Madden 2002 but bought NFL 2K2 that November so my memory of the mode is vague for Madden.

So, in everyone's opinions, how would you compare the competiton and player quality in the free agent market in the off-season for both games? What about draft picks and that entire process? Managing the salary cap? Player progression? Playoffs and Superbowl? Awards and Probowl? Trades? And everything inbetween. Also, if you want, post what you'd want tweaked or changed for one or both of the game's franchise mode.

The main thing madden has over NFL2K3 for me is multiplayer franchise.. other than that I see no advantage to it, really.. Madden for Multi, NFL2K3 for single.

I am trying to figure it out to bro...I have 2K3 and had Madden...I sold Madden because it was to me the samer thing over again. But i have noticed al ot of things in 2K3 that i did not see at first. It's all good though. I think both are real good and it's what you prefer. No one is going top make the perfect game of any sports. There just isn't enough time or memory in the systems. Xbox would be the closest because of the size of the CPU...but their effort NFL Fever is not up to the other 2 top games! JMO of course....

There are some drastic differences, actually.

I am a draft junkie myself and NFL2k3 beats out madden in the draft. It is really fun to draft players in NFL2k3. It is still fun to draft people in madden but i like segas version better

I agree, I always look forward to the draft in NFL2K3. Actually makes you feel like you are involved in a real NFL draft with the ESPN and PDA features.

yeah the PDA is really cool, and you have all the stats there in front of you, and you really feel like youre there. My only complaint is that there are no draft day trades. I would love to be able to move up a spot after a pick or something. I dont think it should just fast forward to your pick. GIve me the option to move up, and it would be really cool if other teams offered trades to you.

The mock draft is also really cool but it doesnt stay very consistent and doesnt help me too much. I think Draft Rumors would work better along with a mock draft.

I like Sega's draft better, and the trading block option is at least a bit cooler...however, I absolutely DESPISE how no rookies get their names announced. Five years into the franchise you have nothing but "Number 39 with the great tackle" coming from Stevens and O'Keefe. That really turns me off, as bizarre as it sounds. I ended up just using "on the field" sounds to eliminate it.

Madden's multiplayer 'chise really whoops *** though (provided you have some active friends to play it with).

If I didn't know any better, I'd think that most of the guys on this board love SegaSports.
