Grade Your 2005 NFL Draft Class.

Looking at this 1st Round, it definitely produced alot of good players out of it(don't know how it stands up to other 1st Rounds off the top of my head)and it might be one of the best in the last 10 years.

Been 5 years since this Draft Class so it's time to grade how well you think your Team did in that Draft.

    The Packers 05 Class:
R1-QB Aaron Rodgers-Sat for the first 3 years but has clearly shown that it was worth the wait and in his 2 years as Starting QB, he's already on his way to becoming one of the Elite NFL QBs and possibly Players in the league. Grade-A

R2-Safety Nick Collins(pick acquired from New Orleans)-Turning into one of the league premier Playmakers at Safety and is coming off back to back Pro Bowl seasons being among the top players in INTs. Grade-B+

R2-WR Terrence Murphy-Got injured in his Rookie year and later had to retire when Doctors discovered he had Spinal Stenosis, which is the narrowing of the spine near the neck. Grade-Incomplete

R4-Safety Marviel Underwood-Backed up Nick Collins didn't contribute much other than Special Teams. Was cut from the team in 2007 after missing all of 2006 with an injury. Grade-F

R4-LB Brady Poppinga-Drafted initially for Special Teams but worked his way up into the starting lineup eventually, starting alongside AJ Hawk and Nick Barnett. Was nothing special but he did just enough to keep his spot. He's now the backup OLB behind Clay Matthews and Brad Jones in the 3-4. Grade-C-Minus

R5-OL Junius Coston: Started a few games but other than that didn't contribute to anything. Worked his way out of the league after stints with the Packers and Raiders. Grade-F

R5-CB Mike Hawkins(pick acquired from Philadelphia): Same as Coston. Was cut following his Rookie year and bounced from Cleveland to Minnesota to Dallas to Tampa Bay to Oakland. Grade-F

R6-DE Michael Montgomery: Drafted mainly as a backup DE but split starting time with Jeremy Thompson in 2008. Resigned with the Packers in 2009 and then was released earlier this offseason and signed with the Vikings. Grade-D Minus

R6-WR Craig Bragg-Worked his way out the league a year later. Grade-F

R7-Safety Kurt Campbell(pick acquired from Philadelphia)-Lasted one year in GB before being released. Spent time in Oakland and Tennessee and is currently in the CFL playing for the Calgary Stampeaders. Grade-F

R7-OL Will Whitaker-Played one year in GB. Was last seen with Washington before they released him. Currently out of the league. Grade-F

So save for Rodgers, Collins and to a lesser extent Poppinga, we basically bombed this draft, but also have to remember that this was Ted Thompson's first draft as GM but he has improved since then.

So yea...post your teams Draft Grades.

    Jets
Round 2- K Mike Nugent- Wasn't very good, and he's a kicker in the 2nd round. Think he's out of the league now. F

Round 2- CB Justin Miller- Was good kick returner for us but he got hurt and wasn't the same. Never developed as a corner. D-

Round 3- DT Sione Pouha- Has battled injuries, and is nothing more than a backup. C-

Round 4- S Kerry Rhodes- Good player, but no longer with the team, fell out of favor with the coaching staff. Has been living off of reputation the last couple of years. Still, was a good starter for us, and good value in the 4th round. B

Round 5- S Andre Maddox- Got hurt, never did anything for us. F

Round 6- RB Cedric Houston- Showed some potential to be a decent player his rookie year, but then quit football. F

Round 7- WR Harry Williams- Never did anything for us. F

The only three who are still in the league do not play for the Browns, and two of them play for the Jets.

I think Frye is still with the Raiders at least.

The others are players of no consequence to the Browns.

        Miami Dolphins

Round 1: Ronnie Brown, starting running back and one of the best in the league when he can stay healthy.

Round 2: Matt Roth, no longer on the team.

Round 3: Channing Crowder, he has been a solid starter for the past couple of years.

Round 4: Travis Daniels, no longer on the team I believe.

Round 5: Anthony Alabi, have no idea who this guy is.

        Round 6-7: Who cares

I give it a B because we still have 2 starters on the team.

          Redskins:

1st: Carlos Rogers- B- If he could catch he'd be a Pro Bowler. However, he can't and thus he's merely a good cover corner incapable of changing a game

1st: Jason Campbell- C I don't think a player could be put into a worse situation with the worst OL in the league, awful offensive coordinators, no good receivers, and roughly half a good season of running backs. That said, he didn't perform that well, but given that he was a late pick and never performed awfully I don't think he really falls into bust territory.

Of the remaining four players, two didn't make the team and the other two played 11 games worth of unspectacular special teams.

I'll give the Redskins a D-. One decent starter still on the team and only two decent starters overall.

The best player the Browns got in 2005 is the one they didnt draft, Josh Cribbs.

There is nothing with Matt Jones if you like 6'6" receivers who drop into a fetal position every time they catch the ball.

That was a pretty pathetic draft. I do think Scott Starks is still around.

                    Darrent Williams, B/B+

Rest are in the lower half of C range but Clarett earns an F-. If I could grade him any lower I would.

On a side note, the 05 draft was a special kind of awful.

                      Alex Smith
                      Ronnie Brown
                      Braylon Edwards
                      Cedric Benson
                      Caddie Williams
                      Pac Man
                      Troy Williamson
                      Antrel Rolle
                      Carlos Rogers
                      Mike Williams.

That was your top ten. Gotta be the worst of all time.

Wow saints draft was bad. They had an A with Jammal Brown but i'd give every other pick like a D/F, besides Lance Moore who went undrafted I'd give him like a C I guess.

To be fair the 11th, 12th, and 13th picks were all great players.

Plus Caddy tore both ACLs after winning the ROTY and breaking the record for most rushing yards in the first few games (I think AD has since surpassed that), Ronnie Brown was leading the NFL in yards from scrimmage before getting hurt in 2007, and Pac Man would be an All Pro player under any other commissioner.

After everything is said and done, I think Brown, Benson, and Rolle will go down as good players, Edwards will have been solid, and Caddy and Pac Man will be candidates for the all asterisks team.

That said, it was pretty bad.

Any draft that nets you players on the level of Aaron Rodgers and Nick Collins has to be an A. I don't care what the rest of the picks were.
