Re: AFC Divisional: Ravens @ Steelers
Should be an excellent game.
I'm rooting for the Steelers because the Ravens scare the poop out of me (assuming the Patriots can beat the Jets).Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening To -

Ravens win by 10, we should have beat them the last time we played.
Everyone is healthy and our offense seems to be clicking.
We just need to get Ben down the first time he gets hit, and take away Mike Wallace; he's too damn good. We dominated them until Troy Polamalu did what he does and made some plays. Terrell Suggs will have 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble.Comment

Re: AFC Divisional: Ravens @ Steelers
No way Ravens win by two scores at Heinz...you realize these teams haven't played a game decided by more than nine points since the Steelers beat the hell out of Baltimore on that Monday night in 07, right?
Flacco is not good in the playoffs, and is not good at Heinz Field. Steelers by six in what will be a great game.Comment

Re: AFC Divisional: Ravens @ Steelers
...against a defense with very little playoff experience.
Flacco regular season lifetime vs. Pittsburgh: 55% completion percentage, 6 TD, 4 INT...2-4 record.
2008 AFC Championship at Pittsburgh: 13-30, 3 INT in a loss.
We had the advantage of not seeing Heap in the matchup in Baltimore this year. Definitely can't let him make a difference in this one.Comment

Oh, and the Steelers aren't going to "show up bigtime" in a rivalry game in the PLAYOFFS? I was at the 2008 AFC Championship...atmosphere was unreal. Come on, man.Comment

....yea ok....I see that one.
Great players make great plays, and Polamalu made a great play, end of story.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: AFC Divisional: Ravens @ Steelers
I know you're all pumped up with a big win today, but I highly doubt that (same with your "The Steelers are about to get a rude awakening and a beatdown." in the Chiefs thread). Batch started at QB the first game and that caused the offense to be completely inept - Steelers D caused 2 turnovers on the Ravens side of the field and the offense didn't do squat with either...mainly because Batch isn't good and couldn't throw the ball and the Ravens stuffed the run as they usually do. The second game was in Baltimore and Ben did what Ben does...wins. It wasn't pretty, but it got the job done. To say Baltimore should have won that game is a bit short-sighted as the Ravens had plenty of opportunities to win it, but they didn't (and that was at home). Steelers had more yds and a 9min advantage in TOP as well.
With that said, I have my doubts about this game simply because there's something about this years Steelers team that bothers me and playing another team this many times is always a crapshoot. However, I'm pretty confident it will be close throughout. In fact, I'd be shocked if it were not.
The only thing for certain is that the winner of this game will be heading into the AFC Championship Game bloodied, beaten and bruised.Last edited by mjb2124; 01-09-2011, 05:59 PM.Comment

Re: AFC Divisional: Ravens @ Steelers
I'd love to see the Ravens win by as much as 10, but realistically, I think that's going to be difficult. The Steelers have had this week off, and a Saturday game is going to really accentuate that deficit for the Ravens, making for a very difficult game overall. On the other hand, the Steelers have struggled at home this year. Ravens won at Heinz, and the Steelers won at M&T this year, so that suggests a possibly equalizing edge for the Ravens, next to the bye advantage of the Steelers. I don't think Flacco or Big Ben will be much of a factor overall. I haven't heard anything so far about how Polamalulooks so far. It will come down to dominant defense, and the running game on both sides being able to give their defenses time to rest.
I won't make a prediction about the winner, I don't know, and am too invested to make an unbiased prediction on that. But I see both teams in the single digits on this one.Comment
