I knew his future with Bengals was not very long, but I didnt expect him to want a trade.

Idk if he should be demanding a trade, but I don't blame him cause the Bengals have no real sense of direction right now

Good for him. If he wants to salvage his career, he needs to get away from this organization. I'm all for the absolute collapse of this team and franchise. Whatever it takes to ruin owner Mike Brown.

Normally I don't like players doing things like this but the Bengals are such an ineptly run organization that has stifled anyone who has skill. It just seems once you go to Cincy you're no longer any good.

Palmer hasn't been good since his knee injury way back when but I think a change of scenery would reinvigorate his career.

I can understand him wanting out of that locker room, but is he in the place of his career to demand anything? He has played pretty awful the last few years.

They're saying on ESPN that he is going to request that he be traded to Seattle, Arizona, or one other team that I can't think of right now and basically his reasoning is, he wants a change of scenery, and if he doesn't get it, he has enough money in the bank that he can retire.

Palmer would be a pretty good fit in Seattle IMO.

The other team they mentioned was San Francisco, where his wife grew up.

I don't normally like rolling with Mort as my source of info, but assuming it's true, I can't say I'm that surprised... and I can't blame him. He just turned 31 and the Bengals still feel like they're searching for an identity. I keep hearing terms like "fresh start" coming out of the organization; which I've heard at the end of at least four seasons now.

I would wish him good luck, but with Mike Brown and his stubborn, old-school ways, I can see him digging in and not giving an inch like he did with Chad. Although, I think they're some teams out there that'll throw out a king's ransom to get him.

Yeah but when you're QB pretty much says he doesn't want to be there then I think you have to move him.

True that, Bengals should be looking to get rid of him anyways, this just makes it a bit easier.

The few times I watched Palmer played he looked like a shell of his former self. He was just off.

Carson Palmer will ask the Cincinnati Bengals to trade him and will contemplate retirement if he does not get his wish, according to several sources.

Palmer, the No. 1 overall pick by the Bengals in 2003, was unavailable for comment as he and his wife Shaelynn were awaiting the birth of their third child.

A Bengals spokesman had no comment. The team has Palmer under contract through 2014.

He could always come play in the CFL.
