i mean his stats would certainly say so..he did take the patriots to the 96 super bowl and i remember him coming in one year against the steelers and winning a afc championship game to take the patriots to the 01 superbowl..but its kinda hard to make a argument for him when the guy to replace him went on to win 3 rings...but still, it wasnt like he was replace for poor play or anything..dude got hurt and who knew Tom Brady was gon be who he was...so with all that said...i guess if i was a voter i would vote yes..what do you guys think though??

Re: Should Drew Bledsoe be in the Hall of Fame
I'm not as critical of players like a lot of guys are around here and I like to give guys the benifit of the doubt especially guys with good stats like Bledsoe had and he had a good career but its hard for me to put Him into the hall of fame. Who knows maybe 20-30 years down the line but I doubt he'll make it in..Comment

Re: Should Drew Bledsoe be in the Hall of Fame
seeing the title of this thread on the front page without even clicking inside of the football forum... I threw up a little in my mouth:
Let's not forget how Parcells had to retire this guy due to ineffective play here in Dallas. The guy turned a 50/50, maybe he gets in on numbers and luck career, into a complete nightmare ending. Maybe down the road people forget that he got replaced by one team, cut by another, and outrighted retired by a third and he gets in. But right now the scars from his Dallas era still burn for me to think this guy is HoF.
To me that don't sound like a Hall of Famer's resume. Just sounds like a really good QB that will get honored by a team, but not the greatest individual honor in all of Football.Comment

Bledsoe is definitely underrated, I'll give you that. Statistically speaking, certainly. 44,000+ passing yards, 250+ TDs, and a Super Bowl ring make a good argument for him. He helped rejuvenate the Patriots in the 90's, and had he not gotten hurt we might be talking about him instead of Tom Brady.
It'll be a ways down the road yet, but I think he'll eventually make it in.Comment

No, had he not gotten hurt no one would have been talking about the Patriots at all.
He was a good quarterback but there is no way he would've led the '01 team to the SB. No way at all.
I never even considered seeing him in consideration for a "HoF" thread and he's the guy I grew up as a kid rooting for/watching.Comment

Bob Griese has a 77.1 rating...and while he was qb of 2 championship teams..he certainly wasnt the main instrument in those championships for the dolphins..nor is his stats great and doesnt come close to Bledsoe's....but he gets in the HOF??...Bledsoe has won/played in some pretty big damn games in the league for him not to get atleast "some" consideration imoComment
