Week 1: Dallas Cowboys @ New York Jets

Since these threads are popping up, might as well make this one.

I think it'll be a good game. A number of compelling things to watch here: can Mark Sanchez handle a greater role with the Jets' offense? How far along is the Cowboys' defense under new coordinator Rob Ryan? How will the Cowboys' offense, with their talented skill players but with a now-super-young offensive line, fare against a great Jets' defense?

if the preseason was any indication of the cowboys regular season theyre in for some trouble. With the emotion of it being 9/11 and in new york nationally televised its going to be an uphill battle all the way.

Given the Cowboys recent history of being so inconsistent, they could be anywhere from a 6-10 team to a 10-6 team and it wouldn't surprise me...lol.

I honestly don't know what to expect, but adding a ton of new scheme info to try and learn to a defense that was already mentally inept and inconsistent doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. Couple that with an OL that is going to be learning on the fly, so to speak, and I think it is going to be a typically frustrating year for Cowboys fans.

The Jets will probably swallow them up. I hope I'm wrong of course, but I don't see the Cowboys winning. Hopefully it's at least a competitive game.

I don't think the defense is ready. However, the Jets offense isn't exactly high powered.

We can give the Jets match up trouble with our offense.

I hope and pray we come out with a big W here.

Our stretch before the bye week gives a solid chance at being 3-1/4-0, but let me focus on this game first.

The Jets are going to pound the ball and play defense, which they do very well. If the Cowboys don't play the run well, they will lose.

I brought this up about a month ago this game worries me. I just don't see us winning due to the circumstances of the day.

NYJ got everything to play to play for emotionally, and you got to know this will be like a superbowl/playoff type atmosphere up at the Meadowlands. I'm not sure if our squad is ready for this just yet.

I just went on and penciled in the 1 in the loss column. We still got plenty of time to make up this game somewhere down the line but that game on sunday could be one of the most frustrating openers since 2000 vs. Philly when the onside kick killed our season before it even began.

Ill take the Jets running up and down the Cowboys D for a 1000 Alex.

Seriously though, I think Sanchize improves and leaves his game manager title in the past this season. That Jets 3-4 > The Cowboys 3-4.

The only problem with that is, the Cowboys O >>>> Jets O.

I think ol' Rob has something in store for that Jets offense. LT and Shonne Greene aren't threats imo, but we'll see. I think a potential Mike Jenkins and Santonio Holmes matchup on the outside will be good to see.

Offensively, I'm interested to see if Felix can handle more carries and stay healthy. The O-line is full of question marks and if we do struggle offensively, that's where it'll be. Can't wait!

Im dreading this matchup jenkins is bad man to man and with the non cover safeties we have over the top help isnt going to happen often. Lets hope they dont decide to test sanchezs abilities and stick with the run game.

Mike Jenkins and Tyron Smith dropped out of today's practices with knee injuries and both will have MRIs done today.

                              Not good news at all.

Basically, the OL and the Secondary must stay healthy for Cowboys to make some noise.

Even if they stay relatively healthy, they also must play up to potential.

This is definitely not the way I wanted to start the year.
