    Week 10: New York Football Giants (6-2) @ San Francisco 49ers (7-1)

49ers come in with the #1 rush defense,#1 defense in points allowed and #2 in turnover differential.

The Giants have Eli and are #5 in turnover differential with no other significant stats,at least not that I'm aware of.

Eli Manning and Alex Smith are 5 & 6 in QB rating.

The 49ers are inducting Roger Craig and R.C. Owens into their team hall of fame at half time.

    I predict a 17-13 49ers win.

If the Giants played like they did last week they will have no problem beating the 49er's. We just need another good game from Eli, the offensive line to play well (so we can run the ball with some success) and we need some rush defense or Gore will run us over all game long. I don't see the Giants having a big problem winning this game next week.

I was just making this thread...lol

NFL Game of The Week. Hopefully if the 49ers defeat the Giants, they start getting a little more repsect. All I keep hearing is, the 49ers have not beat anyone, or they play in the NFC West. Yes they play in the weak NFC West, but they have only played one game vs an NFC West opponnet this year.

The way I see it, if the 49ers win, they start getting a little more respect, if they lose, we hear people saying, told you they weren't as good as their record shows.

49ers have #1 scoring defense (14 ppg) and # 1 Rushing Defense (70 yards per game) they have yet to give up a rushing TD. The Giants rush D and rushing Offense is towards the bottom half of the league, so that bolds well for the 49ers who like to run the ball and control the clock.

      Should be a good one.

        What?

you think it will be a breeze for the Giants, then you haven't watched enough 49ers football this year.

You do know the 49ers are easily the best rushing D in football and have yet to give up a rushing TD.

You guys are playing the 49ers Defense this week, not the worse defense in the league in New England.

49ers haven't gotten enough respect. I've been hearing that there the 2nd Best Team and would present the Packers a challenge. And How great a Job Harbaugh has done. The only negative thing I've been hearing is about Alex Smith and that's why there not buying in. Because eventually he's going to have to Win them A Game.

With that being said, I think 49ers win this one 20-17.

Lol at the Giants not having any problems winning this game. Did the Giants suddenly turn in to the '85 Bears and no one told me?

            Niners aren't 7-1 on accident.

They are actually. They should be 8-0. LOL.

In all honesty, I like SF, but I can't buy into Smith in a tight spot. I hope they beat NY however.

I think the 49ers will have a tough time winning this game. The Giants are in a really good groove right now with the string of wins they've put together. SF is just waiting for someone to stop Gore, and when that happens, I really don't have confidence in Smith winning the game for them.

I think the Giants win, but the game could easily go either way.

Anyone can beat anyone on any Sunday. But who's in more of a groove than SF other than Green Bay?

I love the new found confidence of 49ers fans. It's been a long time lol.

Yeah if the giants blitz like hell they can force smith into some tough moments. I don't really fear they're pass game. The run may gash us but I have a feeling we key the run from the get go and try to end that asap. Our secondary isn't great but I have faith they can limit alex smith to under 300.

The offense needs Hakeem and Bradshaw back. The niners defense will be stout against our run forcing Eli to do what he does and hopefully that is light up the niner secondary.

I think this comes down to Eli versus Gore.

Game basically will come down to who do you trust more, Eli or Alex?

At this point, I'd put my money on Eli right now.

I think the Giants had their wake up call against the Seahawks and they're finding ways to win when they have to.

SF is coming off a game they barely won against Washington who has no running or passing game at this point in the season.

I wouldn't be so sure. Gore rushed for a total of 148 yards in the 49ers first three games (2-1) and they were and up by 10 in the 4th and loss in OT in one of those games.

                            59 yards - Seattle - W
47 yards - Dallas - L (lead by 10 in the 4th and loss in OT)
                            42 yards - Cincinnati - W

Exactly. 49ers have won 6 in a row, Giants 3. Pretty sure the 49ers are in more of a groove.

                            .

Why would we have confidence in teams the past few years? They've been horrible. This 49ers team is good. Great defense, good running game, Smith playing well enough to not make mistakes and great coaching, of course we would have confidence.

Alex Smith will not throw for 300, but so far he hasn't had to. Every team has keyed on the run and the last 5 weeks, it hasn't helped. Everyone knows you gameplan to stop the 49ers rushing attack, not their passing game

Why would the Giants be so confident, other than beating the Patriots (worse defense in the NFL) you guys beat the Rams, Cards, Dolphins, Redskins, Eagles and Bills... not like you have ran through the toughest NFL teams.

Now the 49ers haven't had a tough roud either, I'm just sayin'

Don't know about the barely won part because they pretty much dominated that whole game from the beginning.
