    Proposed NFL rule changes

What do you think of a change to 12 minute quarters and a 25 second play clock in NFL football games? How about 8 minute quarters with a 20 second play clock? I think this would shorten the games and increase the number of plays.

Shorten the games? Why would you want to do that. The more football the better

I think these rules changes would benefit those teams that are best conditioned and organized. You say the more football the better? That is what you get with these rules changes because the number of plays would increase, but the time to complete a game would be much less.

Is this your own personal proposed rule change?

I hope it is, because I would stop being a football fan if it is something that's seriously been brought up somewhere. Football has always been a 60 minute affair, and lately it seems offenses are getting more in gear.

I'd much rather put up with a 4 hour game than a hectic 2 hour game where plays are called without really knowing what the defense is doing.

        Just my opinion, of course.

I think they should just shorten the time clock to 25 seconds. It would speed it up. If the CFl can do it, the nfl can

A football game the way it currently is, is a marathon not a sprint. Your proposed change would ruin this.

First off , what's with all the people that want sports games to be shorter? Man I hate that. If I go to a ballgame I have already bought the tickets..then its another 30 bucks for beer and a hotdog...screw getting the game over quicker! I want OT or 20 innings!

yeah I dont like that idea, 15 mins a quarter is perfect for me. I kinda like the way college does OT though. But i also like the way nfl does it. 40 second play clock is fine for me also..guess im just used to it.

I think the 15 min quarters are perfect. I remember back when the play clock was changed to the format it is now...lots of delay of game penalties at first.

Besides, if you make the play clock only 25 seconds, it's very hard to substitute people in and out.

I don't like the college OT cause I think it's too easy, but I like that both teams get a shot. I think that they should get the ball at the 50 instead of the opponents 25, that's too close.
