    "Bullet" Bob Hayes Died Today

The older people here probably remember him better, but Bob Hayes was one of the greatest two sports stars ever. As an All-Pro receiver and an Olympic sprinter, he's the only man ever to win a gold medal and a Super Bowl ring. There's plenty of good information on his life in this link:

Bob Hayes was an Olympic gold-medal sprinter who went on to an outstanding career as a receiver with the Dallas Cowboys.

Very sad to hear that... Hopefully, the powers that be will finally do what they should have done while he was alive: Enshrine him in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. If there is still a place for O.J. Simpson in the Hall, surely they can make room for Bob Hayes...
On the other hand...you have different fingers.

Why he isn't in the Hall is beyond me.

As many of you may know, he was single-handedly responsible for zone defenses. Before Hayes, there was no such thing as zone pass coverage, only man-to-man.

No one could run with Bob, so teams developed the Cover 2 zone in order to give themselves a chance against his speed. He still leads the Cowboys in all-time receiving TDs.
