Yeah no ****, lol. I guarantee any player would be ecstatic to get a call from Philly rn.
Especially a RB. With that OL and the threat of Hurts as a runner, any RB can thrive in that offense. I'm on the side of not drafting Bijan Robinson at #10, heck not even at #30 if he slides. Having a premier RB is a luxury for this offense. As good as a running team the Eagles can be, they are a throw to score and run to win type of offense. They usually throw to start game, then when they get a decent lead, they run non-stop

Re: 2023 Offseason Thread

Eagles sign Terrell Edmunds to a 1 year deal. Considering what was left on the market, I'm okay with this signing. It was either him or Rapp, Johnson III, Amos, or Eric Rowe. Considering what we have at Safety, Edmunds is automatically slotted into the starting spot. Eagles still need another starting Safety. Their UDFA Safety Blankenship did well, but doesn't have the necessary athleticism and is better suited as a third Safety. At this point now, it looks like they might need to trade for the other starting safety

I would have been okay with him returning to Pittsburgh, but he doesn't leave a gaping hole. He's a good player, but that's it. Just good. No more, no less. He filled a need when he was drafted, and his pedigree and performance did not justify his draft position. He'll be a good safety in Philly, and you'll like him as long as you temper your expectations (not saying you're not, it sounds like you are).

Expectations are definitely in check. The way you described him is how I perceived him. We literally had nothing at safety. Reed Blankenship seems like he can develop into a good rotational safety. He can hit and knows where he needs to be in coverage. While he knows where he needs to be, he can't always get there in time. K'Von Wallace has been a disappointment. His problem was that he had higher expectations since he came from Clemson championship team. Outside of those two, it's just special teams guys.

The hope with Edmunds is that we can win with him, not lose because of him. That's all I can hope for. I'm hoping the Eagles can make a trade for someone lik Byard or another safety that a team is willing to move off of because they're rebuilding or don't want to lose them for nothing in the next offseason. Mainly because the Eagles can't have him as the best cover safety, let alone the best safety on the team

Edmunds deal is a 1 year up to $2M deal with a $1M cap. So that's a great deal for a projected starter, while also not guaranteeing him a starting spot. This is another prove it deal for Edmunds. I guess the hope is that he can get several INTs and have a good year on a higher expectation team and cash in on that $5-7M safety range next year

Re: 2023 Offseason Thread

Lamar has requested a trade from the Ravens.

Don't think it means much though. To be traded he would need to sign his tender I think. I would think any team interested in trading for him would prefer signing him now. They would lose 2 firsts, but I imagine Baltimore would probably want more in return in any trade. Plus, any team would immediately have him on the new deal and not have to worry about this year's tag.

Really all the trade request does is confirm my suspicions all along. If Lamar agrees on terms with any team the Ravens won't match.

You want a trade Lamar? Thats great, lucky for you you are in a position where you can negotiate with any suitor you want. Good luck with that

I don’t get the trade request unless he’s afraid if he signs with another team that the Ravens will match it. Just go sign somewhere, you don’t need to be traded

Think its just him sending a message to every other team out there. He is saying "come get me if you want me" in order to drum up interest.

That's my understanding: While he's under the tag but unsigned, his rights belong to Baltimore but they can't trade him until he's under contract.

Possibly, but not necessarily. If the team waits until after the draft to sign Lamar, Baltimore would get a 2024 and 25 first. For a team like Indy (my GOD that would sting Baltimore fans if he went there), their current pick is #6 so next years' would likely be worse. Baltimore might be willing to take more picks upfront in the 23 draft and trade him now, rather than wait the two seasons.

Lets say Indy offers #6, #79, #138, and a 2024 2nd. Would you rather have that? I think there's an argument.
