I guess Jeff wanted out of Detroit?

Him and AJ should lock it up. Just got to generate some pressure up front

Damn, I know he’s had trouble staying healthy but getting him for a 5th seems like a steal

This likely takes Atl out of taking a CB at $8 so puts Bijan and pass rusher back as the favorite (my guess is bijan)

That's why it is vital to always keep your mid round picks. A third to 5th round pick could land you a starting caliber players or someone with high upside. The downsides are usually it comes with a higher cap hit

It's almost a detriment to be a RB in this era. With positional value, it's hard to justify taking a RB that high. Take the Falcons and Eagles. With the Falcons(similar to Giants and Cowboys when they took Saquon and Zeke), when you're not close to competing, that RB best years are essentially wasted before you're team is ready to compete. With the Eagles, you can say they can afford to take a luxury pick that seems like a good plug and play guy. But at the same time, when you have a great OL and running threat at QB, you could get by with drafting a RB later and still get good production.

Yea its a interesting debate on taking a HB at #8 and I'm fine with it mostly because It's probably a safe pick. The HC I'm sure is wanting to find his Derrick Henry and if thinks that's Bijan then go for it. It also should allow you to help find out of the young QB is the guy as it would be a pretty good supporting cast in a winnable division

Re: 2023 Offseason Thread

Taking a RB Top 10 is foolish.

In nicer terms, not the best use of that pick especially for that team.

Re: 2023 Offseason Thread

I mean, RBs are still extremely valuable and important to a team's success. Not paying them, or drafting them high, is a decision made by teams based on the "run them into the ground while they are young, then throw them away" strategy. Which is not above criticism or question. But it's a copycat league, so.
