Re-signing him was a fine idea, just not to that length of a contract. That was the mistake the Chiefs made, signing him for that long, not re-signing him.
This isn't basketball, they only have to pay for his signing bonus and the amount of time that they want to keep him on the team.

I know but that salary cap hit after he's already gone elsewhere in year 4 and 5 is not any really great thing to be proud of, as a Cowboys fan I know that all too well..

On top of the fact that because of the loss of Willie Roaf, he was having to stay in and block more, instead of going out and catching passes.

I could go on and on, but I really don't think you are going to see what I'm saying anyways.
I hate to agree with a Jayhawk, but that analysis is spot-on. I am glad Gonzo will finish his career as a Chief. He is one of those rare players that just wouldn't look right in another uniform.

It would be wrong to see him in any other uni. He's killed the Bolts over the years, but he's a great great player. Good to see he will more than likely end his career with KC.

Maybe some year your team will actually learn how to defend against him, BK.

Doubtful. Guy kills us every year. You know it's coming and he still makes the plays.
