It is not a necessity for everyone but it is for some.

I know people here in Houston that kinda stopped watching the NFL when there was no team to cheer for. And no one was going to cheer for the Titans that was for sure. Of course though,not many people cheer for th eTexans because there isn't too much to cheer for.

But I have watched it more since the Texans came to town. I make sure I watch every Texan game, even when they are destined for a losing season.

IMO, it is a bit harder to watch when there is no one to root for.

I never realized how much I enjoy the NFL, yet I don't root for any particular team.

I don't think you have to have a favorite team. I have Sunday Ticket, so I can just watch the games that I feel are the best games of the day. I am a Charger fan, but I am a football fan first and foremost.

I love the Patriots but I definitely enjoy watching football, whether it's college or NFL, no matter who's playing. So I'd say no.

My only football team is the Miami Hurricanes. I already have enough drama from them...why do I need another to cry about? lol

Nope,

Now there are certain teams and styles of play that can be boring and you'd better be a fanof those teams in order to enjoy it but other then that I can watch just about any game.

Oh and it's a lot easier on the heart and psyche when your team isn't in the playoffs. God I hate how the Bills get screwed by destiny

I say yes and no. I love football, but when the Browns moved away, it took something from me that we can never get back, even with having a team back. For 3 years, while I watched, I didn't care as much.

I love Football, period.

I love the Cowboys.

Sometimes I can actually sit back and ENJOY the game more if Dallas is not playing. I get too much into my team. With that said, it sucks we were eliminated in the first week.
