You can't compare the two in this day in age. First, there is a new sheriff in town who clearly takes the image of the league seriously. Didn't hear about that part. Well, if we can relate how the NFL reacted to Pac-man Jones. Vicks punishment is going to be pretty tough.

Wait one guy betted on NFL games and the other on pitbulls fighting. How could Michael Vick be worse then Hornung?

Apparently if the NFL really wants to ban Vick for longer than a year they can use the gambling and associating with known gamblers angle. In which case the NFL would have more than a leg to stand on.
