Thanksgiving Day Football Thread

Well guys, another Thanksgiving and another slate of games.

This time, the games pretty much mean something.

Packers @ Lions - 12:30pm EST on FOX
Jets @ Cowboys - 4:15pm EST on CBS
Colts @ Falcons - 8pm EST on NFL Network.

Re: Thanksgiving Day Football Thread

It seems as if every Thanksgiving the football games are just background noise. I wish it was the Pack playing the Boys.

I'm actually looking forward to the Pack playing Detroit. That felt weird to type.

Yeah I think that'll be a good game. I don't think the other two games are as much of slam dunks as other seem to think. The Jets could steal one from the Boys, who aren't a wide margin better than the Steelers. And the Colts are struggling and playing on the road. Gonzalez is starting with a bum thumb (hey that rhymed!), Moorehead is now on IR, and Ugoh is coming back, but their RT is now hurt. Joey Harrington's biggest weakness is that he isn't getting rid of the ball quick enough, but with Freeney out, that means the Falcolns will focus on Mathis and Rice hasn't really been scaring a lot of people this year. That could be an upset (and Lord, I hope it is!)

The Jets will steal one from the Cowboys??? If anything the Steelers did the Cowboys a favor last week. It was a wake up call that anything can happen in the NFL. Very slim chance the Jets get it done Thursday afternoon. Very slim.

A wake up call? If your coach isn't preparing your team like he should, then I guess you would have a point. As a matter of fact, I for some reason am still thinking Wade Phillips is lucky. Jason Garret is a big part of that team's current success. IMO There's nothing worse than seeing Wade Phillips raise his arms after each call. Looks ridiculous; as it to show you're surprised the play actually worked. Having said that, I guess you do have a point there, but, tomorrow, is Thanksgiving Day after all.
