David Garrard

He's gotten almost no attention for the job he's done this year for the Jags.

He had some inefficiencies in years past, but he seems to have corrected a lot of those this year.

Still the only NFL starter who hasn't thrown a pic this year and he has no fumbles either this year.

Fourth in QB Rating at 103.1 as well...

Is this just a good stretch of football or should the Jags sign him to an extension?

Sounds to me like the perfect game manager. Might not win you the game but will definitely not lose you the game.

Sometimes thats all the QB has to do for a team. And Garrard does it pretty good.

I wouldn't go crazy. But look @ the state of the QB in the NFL. If you have someone that can avoid making mistakes, move the ball, & keep the D honest, you've gotta keep him.

Garrard can win the game if asked, he is just not ask very much. Last week against the Chargers, they got within 7, Garrard then lead the team down the field with a 70+ drive consisting of 4 passes for a TD. He broke a ton of records in college and has a great arm, the Jags just don't have WRs that can get open deep.

That is the key to any QB's success. Do not turn the ball over.

this is funny cuz I was just saying this to a friend yesterday, I'll admit I wasn't too sure on him especially when the cut Bleft but Garrard has had a solid year. He's the perfect fit for Jville, they are primarily a run first team that just needs the offense to play a clean game because their defense can keep them in games.

Re: David Garrard

He is actually second all time in consecutive pass attempts without an int. He's about 2 or 3 games away from Bernie Kosar's record. I was very sceptical when they cut Leftwich, but Garrard has been incredible. I think they should sign him long term since I think he is proving that he is the best QB for that team.
