I didn't know Ed Reed was the only high profile safety in the NFL. I was just trying to point that every frigin week I see safeties get burnt but only Roy get pointed out. I wonder why?

I watched the play of the dolphins and the cb did get beat but imagine if we replace Ed with Roy everyone and their mama would say that it was Roy fault. They don't point out that he is 2nd on team in tackles but always want to point out his mis steps. I could do that to every safety in the NFL.

While I understand your point, at my safety position, I want a safety that can hit, not a linebacker that can cover. Roy seems to be the later

You just describe a strong safety, with more teams using multiple wrs sets the strong safety is becoming less valuable.

I see league looking for more versatile safety's like Reed, Troy P, Reggie Nelson, Adrian Wilson etc. He's a good run players, but once you put him in coverage he might as not be on the field

I have seen all those guys blow coverages but Roy is the poster child for poor coverage. Why is that?
