I thought I read some where that Marvin wanted no part of running the defense? Which is probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard seeing that his defensive prowess is what landed him the job in the first place.

They had so many injuries on the defensive side that is the life of assistant coaches in football.

I like the hire.

I don't like the fact that we might end up in the 3-4. We don't have 3 linebackers that are starter quality on our roster... let alone 4.

Lets face it.

Not only no they not have 4 Linebackers, I doubt they have 3 down linemen capable of the 3-4.

If this means they switch to a 3-4 I think it's a bad hire. The defense is already lacking, now you have to reteach the D, get guys who can play in it, and find something to do w/ the guys on the roster who don't fit in it.

So if that's the case, looks like some years before the Bengals D helps out the O

True.

If they don't draft someone to help out the front 7 in the first round I will be disgusted. Someone in that front office needs to realize that you need some form of pass rush in order to help out the secondary. Which everyone views as the Bengals weakness. The secondary can't cover people forever.

They just need to fire Marvin Lewis and start all over again from stratch. This was a playoff team a few years ago and now they are struggling just to win regular season games.
