Re: NFC DIVISIONAL: Giants vs. Cowboys - "For the history books"

I agree with everything stated in this thread. Dallas has to give Barber the ball and establish the early running game. If they accomplish this, the game will fall into their hands.

Eli has to play the way he did in Tampa, though he'll probably have to work harder against a tougher Dallas D. Shockey will be missed in this match.

In the end: Cowboys win 28-17!

I'm pretty sure you're excited to have sent 12 players to the Pro Bowl, but ask the Chargers how that worked out for them last year. The NE Pats are the best team in the league and they don't have 12 pro bowlers. The Jax Jags have one of the best squads on D, and ask them how many players they're sending to the Pro Bowl. It really don't mean a whole lot, except that your team is very popular and had a good season. What's the latest on TO? He's limping, isn't he?

For the Giants, I think it could come down to which Eli plays and if he can play well a full 60 minutes.

Either way, should be a fun game.
uh, it's Marion the Barbarian...

Looks like all the Romo-haters in the media are coming out of the woodwork.

An assinine article by Rueben Frank (CNN/SI) claims that Romo's weakness is that folds under pressure, when the play breaks down. Allegedly, Romo gets skittish and rushes throws whenever all hell breaks loose. Makes me wonder if the guy has actually ever seen Romo play a game. He devotes an entire paragraph lamenting the fact that Romo has been in the league 5 years, and has yet to win a single playoff game. Of course, he neglects to mention that Romo was on the bench until his 4th year in the league, and his 5th year isn't even over yet.

Don Banks of CNN/SI ranks the 8 playoff quarterbacks of 2007-8. And he rates Tony Romo (5th) squarely behind Eli Manning (4th). Is this guy on crack?

It's short term memory. Romo finished the season poorly while Eli was solid against the Pats and Bucs. Sports writers need to stop doing this.
