The label FB on him is kind of deceiving. He took up a roster spot as a FB but generally played HB.

There's no way that he's going to the hall of fame.

He was good one back/tailback in a system that gave him touches during short yardage and goal line siturations. I saw him during his prime and he was a good player but not a hall of famer.

One of my roomates a few years ago was a big Fan of his, and he told me that he used to do squats by grabbing on to the bumpers of old cars and lifting them lol.

If he doesn't, no FB should. What couldn't he do at a very high skill level for his position?

The thing is he wasn't really a Fullback, he was a Running Back listed as a Fullback. Someone like Mack Strong was a Fullback, Alstott was a hybrid RB/FB. If Ray Guy isn't a HOFer, no way Alstott (even under the myth he is a FB) should be in.

Then why was he voted as a Pro Bowl fullback from 1996-2002? And why was his position always listed as FB and not RB? Throw Ray Guy in there too, he was a pretty good punter. 9 Pro Bowls = pretty good at your position.

That's probably what it'll come down to. Is he a halfback with below par stats or a fullback with great stats?

I happen to see him as a halfback with below par stats.
