Actually, Denvers biggest need is probably tackle. But then you also have to consider that there can be a big difference between player of greatest need and player of greatest impact.

Denver is picking, what, 12th? They could grab Ryan Clady at 12. Or Kenny Phillips. Them trading up to get DMC would cost way too much.

Just for the sake of discussion, let's assume Dallas could trade up for Barber and one of the first rounders? Would it be a good move? How about if Barber wasn't part of the deal, i.e. the Boys sent Miami a package of draft picks?

Two first rounders, Bobby Carpenter & Marcus Spears... but even then I doubt that would be enough.

Maybe I'm missing something, but why would they trade up to get McGod if they didn't trade Barber or Jones? Seems like an awful lot of money tied to the easiest position to fill.

Fair point. It seems probable that Julius Jones (who will be a free agent in a month) is as good as gone, so the Boys will at the very least be looking for another back to share the load.

****....seriously?

This would easily be the worst move in the history of the NFL...w/o question.
McFadden has really shown little to no ability to run b/t the Tackles at the Pro level...and Julius Jones ain't gonna get it done.

I'm not as down on this idea as most people seem to be. There is a precedent in Cowboys history for this.

Back in 77 the Cowboys felt they were one gamebreaking rb away from winning it all, so they sent a 1st and 3 2nd rounders to Seattle in exchange for the second overall pick. Dallas used that pick to select Tony Dorsett, and the Cowboys went on to win the Super Bowl.

I love MBIII, but he's never going to be the gamebreaker-type back that McFadden could be. As it stands now the price is a little too steep, but if Dallas can talk the Dolphins down a bit I say go for it.
