Re: Ravens to make a run at McNabb?

Baltimore has a pretty good corp to throw to actually. You do know that one of the best TEs in the NFL and best option on their team, Todd Heap, was hurt for most of the season right? His backup, who's also a pretty good TE, Wilcox, was also hurt most of the season.

Clayton took a step up in his 2nd season last year but was hurt for about half the season and never seemed right when he came back. Williams who showed lots of flashes in his rookie year last year and early this year got hurt right when Clayton started getting healthy and missed pretty much the 2nd half of the season. Mason is the only regular on the WR corp that played pretty much the entire season.

Why don't they just stick with Troy Smith, he'll develop into a good QB, but he has to play for that to happen.

Re: Ravens to make a run at McNabb?

No reason to give up on Smith and no reason to rush him. People like rushing QBs (well everybody) these days. QBs take a while to develop into leaders. The Ravens aren't a rebuilding team. You can't give up the farm for McNabb but IF (still a big if) Smith is the real deal, McNabb could give a year or two while he develops and could be the player that puts the Ravens over the top if he stays healthy.

Meanwhile IF Smith isn't the real deal, a couple of years of McNabb gives them more time to find out and look for, get and start developing someone else.

BTW, Boller's not out of the equation either but McNabb would be an upgrade for the team obviously, and Boller's future should be as a backup regardless of whether or not he's needed to start this year or for another team later. The move would make sense but only depending on what they'd need to give up to get McNabb.

Let's see in 2002, 2003, 2005, and 2006 he played every single game of the season. He was only hurt this year and in 2004.

I thought he missed more games than that. I'm not descrediting him of his talent. Only saying I thought he was injury prone, and I thought he missed more time than only those two seasons.
