And a 90's Cowboys team or 80's 49ers team with the benefit of modern technology and training takes down the 2007 Pats.

It would probably be a bit more haunting if they hadn't yet won a superbowl. But since they do have a closet full of those things, I think it will help soften the pain after the initial shock wears off.

But still, how do you get motivated for mini-camps and training camp knowing that it can all slip away so quickly.....Ofcourse I suppose there are 11 teams that are in that position every year.

The 2007 Pats wouldn't be able to stop 1 running back Miami had back then, let alone 3 powerful backs. And you think Brady looked bad with line penetration against the Giants?

Back then you can mug receivers in the dirt as a d-back as well.

On a different note, if Marino had the rules of todays game for the receivers being so spoiled, he would have at least 100,000 yards and probably 75 TDs in the single season. Brady showed he relied too much on his O-line with the FIRST SACK, how he did two lazy fake handoffs and then got planted for it. Thought he had all the time in the world, and he looked shocked, and that set the tone for the rest of the game.

The rules that were changed for the QB's the past ten years, and the extremely enforced {now} rule for the wide receivers was to help out the crap fest of QBs that have been stale. Nothing will replace the 84' class!

If it takes you a while to remember well that's just what will happen with the Pats this year. They're just another team on the heap of SB Losers while the Giants have immortality.

So, no 18-1 isn't better.
Nobody will forget this.

Do you forget who the Jets beat in Superbowl 3? NO they beat the Colts.

It's just strange now that the Patriots lost one game, people doubt them and say they aren't as good as they're projected.

They put up points in the 50 pt range (or just below) a bunch of times this season. That for one, is very impressive.

They accomplished nothing and were utter failures.

It's not just losing one game, it's losing the game that everyone plays for.

They were being talked about as the best team ever and they weren't even the best team this year.
