Does it make you happier if he's 6-10? Geez.

He's a first ballet HOF. And these ranking a QB is so subjective, it's like ranking all time best music.

Re: Brett Favre Retires

Definitely a sad day for NFL fans. It's good to see that he was able to retire with the games started streak at QB instead of an injury forcing him to cut it short.

It can always be worse. He could've gone out in a 62-7 thumping having the worst game of his career (Dan Marino).

The Bears peaked two years ago and relied heavily on their defense. The Packers were a young team with balance on both sides of the ball. I would say the Packers are/were in a much better position going into next season then the Bears were at the start of last year.

He might not be the "sexy" pick that Brady or Manning is but dammit he is a top 5 all-time QB. He is the Cal Ripken of football, and I think he broke many of Marinos records this year too.

All that should be said about this guy right now is praise towards a great career. Damn all you haters, skeptics, and cynics.
Brett Favre is tougher than Johnny Unitas?

I am with EWRMETS here, he is overrated. I understand he is a future HOFer, but he is not on the level as some of those other QBs.

Those of us who have never played the game at that level don't have a leg to stand on in saying that Brett Favre is overrated when everyone that has played the game praises him and his play to no end.

Something tells me they are a bit more qualified to pass judgement on that topic.

I didn't mean to hijack a Brett Favre lovefest but this thread was about him retiring. I really enjoyed watching Favre play and even had a Favre reversible jersey when I was in grade school. Just because he retired and people like him doesn't mean his play should be overstated.
