WTF?!?

How could he be a Hall of Famer if Phil Simms is not?

Re: Steve McNair calls it quits

Sad to hear this. I was hoping that he'd get released and come to Tennessee in his final couple of years as a backup. In his prime, McNair was one of the best field generals in the league. I'll never forget some of his highlights... he truly elevated the play of everybody around him. Nothing fires up a defense more than watching your QB plow over a linebacker for a TD. All those hits likely shortened his career, but he took them for the team. There's not many QB's that sacrificed their bodies like McNair did.

To make matters worse, Kyle Boller will probably be our starter unless Troy Smith shows something. Ohhh gawd, another horrible season.

Ahh yes "Air McNair!" He was godly at the collegiate level. I definitely enjoyed watching him play. He was a great all around athlete who could run as well as throw and a tough as nails qb that played through many injuries. So long Steve and thanks.

Re: Steve McNair calls it quits

I don't think he's a HOF'er mainly because if guys like Simms and Anderson aren't there then he shouldn't be. That's not to say he wasn't a great QB because he was. He was truly the prototype for the kind of QB most scouts look for today and he was a tough SOB who could be physical as well as run the ball when necessary.

I'll miss seeing him out there but last year had all the tell all signs that all the hits, injuries and grittiness finally took a toll on his body.
