Barry was the best I've ever seen, but I wasn't around for guys like Jim Brown.

Easily the best I've ever seen, but I'm only 20.

Re: Barry Sanders: The Best Halfback Ever

The ignorance of people with regards to Detroit's actual OLine when Sanders was there astounds me.

He's trying to say that Detroit's offensive line was better than everybody says it was because that's the argument people use against Emmitt (that his O-Line was that good and he doesn't deserve credit) because he's a Cowboys fan and saying Barry Sanders was better than Emmitt is heresy.

Oh I see. Well Detroits line wasn't that great and you could check the history as far as how many probowlers were on it. I am a Detroit fan but I'm a realist too. I'm not gonna say Emmitt was overrated but he is not in the same class as Barry. And Barry didn't have the privilege to run behind a probowl OL through out his career. Even Emmitt admits that Barry is better than him, hell even Walter Payton said Barry was better than himself. People don't realize how great of a running back he was. He would take any broken play and take it the distances. Even his 2 yard runs would make people hold their breath.

Re: Barry Sanders: The Best Halfback Ever

Barry's o-line was above average (Brown and Glover were good at least). Emmitt's was all world. Anyone arguing that fact is somehow related to Emmitt Smith.

Saying the Lions line was terrible is obviously an exaggeration and incorrect, but it was in no way comparable to what the Cowboys had.
