Re: Torry Holt - Decade Completed...

I've been a Holt fan since he came out of NC State (I'm a Clemson fan, so I couldn't like him while he was there, but I did respect his game) I feel like he is what all kids who want to play WR at any level should emulate. He has always seemed to be an intelligent/classy individual on and off the field. I would love him in Green Bay if he does decide to play on after this year, but word around here (Charlotte, NC) is that he would choose Carolina over any other team simply to play in his home state. (I have heard that multiple times in the past on the sports talk radio stations here). If he does hang it up after this year, I think a lot of people would be shocked, but it wouldn't be a dumb decision, get out before the game beats you up to the point you can't enjoy the rest of your life to the fullest.

I agree with this.

I certainly wouldn't blame him if he did, either. Football is a rough game.

Because he's still playing football after 10 years?

Re: Torry Holt - Decade Completed...

He doesnt have the hype, but he is a great WR. Maybe on the way out now, but he was the guy no one talked about. Probably bc he played with Marshall, had Isaac Bruce, and then, the feel good story of Kurt Warner

Re: Torry Holt - Decade Completed...

I've noticed how ridiculously consistent Torry has been in the past looking at his numbers. He's definitely one of the best, not a down year yet (unless you consider dropping from 1300 to 1100 yards a drop off). He should be glad he's not the top headline on ESPN. That's his legacy. Just like Marvin Harrison. His legacy is he's not going to be a jerk. In the end, you'll get way more respect for that then for being a loudmouth jerk. The loudmouth jerk always falls off at some point, the quiet consistency will never. Good luck and best of wishes to Torry Holt in whatever decision he makes in the future.

If the Rams go 3-13 or whatever they went last year again, I'm willing to bet you'll hear from Holt. Character or not, nobody likes losing. Sometimes not complaining isn't "showing character" it's just being passive.

That said, there's no real reason to bring up the other 3 receivers in a conversation about Holt. He's an almost definite Hall of Famer. He had the talent, production, and has been considered one of the best in the league.

They haven't done better than 8-8 the last 4 years running. If he was going to complain, wouldn't he have done it by now? Also, do you really believe that everybody complains when things don't go there way or were you exaggerating?
