He was a top 10 pick because Matt Millen is a loser.

This series of posts is baffling. Colbert's been horrible since his good rookie year.

And Colbert can't hold Driver's jock, either.

How does he keep his job? My theory, he stumbled into a meeting where the Ford CEO was conspiring with other CEO's to keep the price of oil inflated.

He keeps his job because he keeps asses in the seats. Ford Field is still sold out every Sunday, so money keeps flowing in for Ford. The actual product on the field could not matter less to the Lions' front office. They don't care about their fans, they just care that their fans show up.

You'd think at some point it would just be a matter of personal pride to put a quality team on the field.

Agreed. So Mike Willams has flamed out and all USC receivers are busts?

Book is still out on Smith, Colbert and Jarrett. None of whom IIRC were taken in the first round. I think Smith will probably end up being the best of that group, if deployed right. Problem is all of these guys are really possesion guys and I am not sure the numbers will ever meet the expectations.

Even Keyshawn, who had a nice career was really a possesion guy. Only recent USC WR's who's really been a downfield threat was Johnny Morton.
