I'll be interested to know how much he signed for; he's very comparable to Derek Smith if you ask me (in terms of production over the past 5 seasons, they are very comparable), one year older, and arguably more injury prone. The whole reason the 9ers released Smith was for "salary-cap reasons" which is BS when they're about 27 mil under the cap, so it would be very amusing if they signed Spikes for more than the $3.28 Smith was going to make (including about $2 million in bonus money they have to pay him even though he's been released).

I am surprised the released Brandon Moore, I thought he was a decent player.

Yeah, the Brandon Moore release did come as a bit of a surprise.

Takeo should do well alongside Patrick Willis.

How much does Spikes have left, though? The Eagles cut him in March after giving him a sizable chunk of money just last year. Not aware of any extenuating circumstances in that situation, though I suppose there could be something I don't know about.
