Heads up: Classic Montana/Elway game this week...

...on NFL-N Friday at 9 EST. It seems they're using the Classic Games slot to highlight a classic game based on the upcoming weekend's games as last week they showed the '95 NFC Championship and now this week they're showing what Al Michaels considers the best MNF he's ever called in the '94 Chiefs/Broncos classic between Montana and Elway.

I have this game in its original state and it's indeed a classic. I won't spoil it for you but you gotta watch this from beginning to end if you've never seen this game before.

I'll update this thread anytime there's a classic game being shown that I think merits attention.

I hope it's something they keep doing every week. One of the reasons I like it is because they show the game as if it's happening right now except they cut out the commercials a few times.

One game I would like to see is the Monday Night game between the Cowboys and Redskins back in 2005 when Santana Moss caught the 2 TDs to win the game. I remember falling asleep during the game seeing the Cowboys up the 13-0 and my Pops goes to bed saying the game is over. Next morning I wake up, I see the Sports section in front of my door with the final score being Redskins-14 Cowboys-13.

NFLN doesnt like Denver. They also like showing the snow game vs the Raiders that in the grand scheme of things was kind of meh.


They should have shown the 1998 game in Arrowhead when Derrick Thomas was emasculated by Shannon Sharpe.

Too bad it wont have the old commercials. I'm watching the Super Bowl between the Giants and the Bills, I recorded it from NFL-N back in January. Only other bummer about this is there are no introductions, another thing I loved about the old Super Bowls. Nothing like going to bed at night with an old classic game playing in the background... gives you sweet dreams of Reggie Langhorn I am addicted to old games from the 80s and 90s.

BUMP BUMP BUMPITY BUMP!!

Another heads up folks. The last little while NFLN has shown games that er...aren't really classical IMO but this Friday we get a treat as we'll see the '85 Bears vs the Green Bay Packers in Lambeau. This game features a dominating running performance by Payton and a game that isn't determined til the 4th quarter.

Friday @ 9 PM. There's also a replay on Saturday during the daytime.
