Re: Who's done more to damage his legacy in the last year?

Clemens by a long shot.

Favre might be a pompous jerk off the field, but I'd hardly say he's ruined his legacy. We don't even know if the recent allegations are true about Favre. All they are is allegations and they aren't against the rules.

It's similar to a player that get's cut and signs a contract with a team that will play his ex-team in the near future. It's not against the rules to give your new team information about what type of plays they run.

Every time Favre takes out his garbage, there is another thread or two developed in the football forum.

Apparently the people voting for Favre have nothing to say.

I voted Clemens, and there's nothing more I could say about him that hasn't already been said. Oh yeah, he threw his wife under the bus to try to cover-up his cheating. Classy.

Yeah, I'm wondering who all is voting for Favre here. I'd love to see the argument that Favre has damaged his legacy more.

Clemens. They are both garbage, but at least Favre is still on solid legal footing.

Here's why I say Favre. Clemens was rumoured to be on the juice for a long time. So the revelation wasn't much of a shock to the public. The evidence that came out really just allowed the media to talk about it. But it was being whispered off the air. Now his complete denials & throwing every other person conected to him under the bus made the situation worse. We knew all along the numbers were tainted. But the "man" himself took a beating.

Favre was teflon. Most fans liked him, even if they weren't Packer fans. He had this image of the everyday guy who played the game just for fun. That was the view the majority had of Brett. That's been completely undone by his behavior since "retirement". He's shown to be a selfish, vindictive prima donna pouting over not getting his way & handling his "ouster" from Green Bay w/the rationale of a scorned golddigger.

I would say Favre. Clemens was surrounded with suspicion and started the path downhill long before a year ago IMO. Favre was one of the most respected figures in sports, someone who really played the role of just a regular guy who happens to be one of the best QBs ever, and he has completely thrown all of that away.
