Watch the slow mo. The ball was tipped and was less than a second away from hitting the ground when Clark put his whole body in to him. He knew the ball had been tipped and he knew it was nowhere near Welker.

Well, there's pretty much no convincing you of why you're wrong... so why are you continuing to argue about it.

Here's a secret... a bunch of people will say its an illegal hit... you'll say it wasn't... they'll say it was... you'll say it wasn't. etc. etc.

Just save the post... and agree to disagree.

Wasn't really dirty.

No leading with the helmet and he hit Wes, shoulder to chest.

Clean.

Given that criteria I suppose people should just "save" about 80% of their posts here on OS.

Wouldn't be much of a message board then.

Seeing as how it appeared to be a hit on a defenseless receiver, you can't say the hit was completely clean.

The NFL doesn't seem to think it was dirty.

Clark won't be fined for the hit.

I've gone back and watched it a few times now. Initially it looks like he left his feet, but you can see on replay he didn't leave his feet until he made contact, not before. I like Welker and it was a brutal shot, but I have to go with clean. Props to Welk for getting up from that and walking away.... man.

It was just a little late, the hit itself was fine though. It's tough for a defensive player to let up when they have their sights set on a target, so I'm not going to go out and blame Clark for this one. It was just a little late. I'm surprised the NFL isn't fining him though considering the things they have fined for this year alone.
