Re: Marion Barber

Call be crazy but I'd take Barber over Peterson, Peterson doesn't pass block as well or catch passes out of the backfield as well, Barber is the more complete back and despite his injury, I think Barber will be more durable in the long run.

Re: Marion Barber

Barber is a good running back, He put the team on his back aginst the redskins in the second game. But as far as being the cowboys main man No, When Jones went down it hurt, he's that type of running back that need another running back go with him..Well really that's everybody running back in the leauge. barber is the guy to pound it in the 4th. Him and Jacobs bout the same.

McFadden might develop well, but a McFadden/Jones tandem isn't one that I think will work as well as a Barber / McF or Jones tandem.

The idea of a tandem is that the two backs compliment one another, not that they have the same strengths and weaknesses...

Being a RB is about more than running, too...it is about pass protection, as well, and Barber may not be the best, but he does his job...not to mention that I would take Barber over nearly any other back (except those in NYG) against one or two DBs to get the last yard.

Re: Marion Barber

I don't think he's overrated. It's funny that everyone was screaming how underrated he was and when he finally becomes a feature back and starts getting praise, he's overrated.

He's much better in a back up role. I never thought he'd translate well into a feature back and even at the beginning of the year, after seeing Felix Jones's productivity I thought we'd be best with Felix starting and Barber doing more of the same he did last year. Barber doesn't really fit the offensive style of the Cowboys ideally. He's a tough downhill runner but the style of the Cowboys is not line up in i-formation and grind it out. We're a big play team.

But Barber does a lot of things well as you guys said. He's a good pass blocker, good check down receiver out of the backfield, extremely aggressive and a good runner, especially at the end of the game.
