Re: Where Would You Rank Ed Reed Among The Best Players Of This Decade?

Here's a guy nobody's saying anything about.

Edgerrin James. What you say? In the last 10 years Edge has rushed for a whopping 12000 yards! That's put him 13th all time. If we're using this time period, he has to be mentioned. Nobody has rushed for more yards in that time period. He's also scored 91 TD's.

Seven of those years he went over 1000 yards rushing. He also has over 3000 yards receiving on over 400 receptions in that time.

Every runner on the all time rushing yards list ahead of him is or will be a hall of famer, he likely will be too.

Which is it man? Is he Overrated or Not? LOL
What? Mind reading my post again before saying this nonsense. I said I agree that he's overrated IN THE SENSE THAT HE'S NOT THE BEST SAFETY IN THE LEAGUE. Got that?

Again, I'm not a big stats guy, but I think they went from 32nd in the regular season without Bob Sanders to riding their defense to a superbowl victory with Bob Sanders. It was still one dimensional, but they couldn't stop anyone from running on them that year. He came back and all of the sudden Tony Dungy looked like a genius again. They had the best run defense of any team in the playoffs. Worst to first all and the only difference was Mr. Sanders.

Yeah but the question is this. Is it harder to stand out on a average defense or is it harder to stand out on a defense filled with talent. Sanders is in the former category while guys like Reed and Polomau are in the latter.

LOL at you guys ganging up on the dude, because it was BK who said he was overrated.

Preety sure if he said he wasn't everyone else would agree.

Not trying to start anything, but just saying, have your own opinion people...

I personally don't think Bobby Sanders is overrated. You always hear people say Troy P and Reed are better at that position..Even BDawk.

Good player, not a great player, certainly overrated and not on the same level as Ed Reed.

As I said, he's what Sam Madison was 10 years ago. A nice player who somehow people pumped up in to being much better than he actually is.

Sanders is a beast. He is a beast inside the box. A great strong safety that led his defense to a Super Bowl win.

Player of the decade is....Tom Brady. Not even close.
