Re: Where Would You Rank Ed Reed Among The Best Players Of This Decade?

Please, nobody was ganging up on anybody...take that mess somewhere else LOL.

I said in the other topic that Defense wasn't/isn't that good and he(Sanders)is included in that.

Other than playing the run, he's a one dimensional Safety and I don't know if you noticed but there isn't too many of those in the league. If you can't stop the run AND play the pass, you won't last long.

Good Hitter and Run Supporter but definitely not worth all the hoopla he's been getting over the past few years.

Back on topic, grunt what makes you think it's not even close with Brady? Asking out of curiosity.

Not trying to start anything, but just saying, have your own opinion people...

I personally don't think Bobby Sanders is overrated. You always hear people say Troy P and Reed are better at that position..Even BDawk.
I realized that also lol.

But really, I'd rank Ed Reed in the Top 10. He is a helluva player but there are some guy, including his own teammate, who have made a greater impact.

Bob Sanders, as stated above, good player, but their are better at his position.

I'm going to throw the name Kurt Warner out there. He's got a chance, though unlikely, to get his 3rd MVP of the past 10 years.

Ed Reed is my single favorite player in the NFL.

In my lifetime, the only Safety I have seen better then him is a prime Ronnie Lott.

He has unreal instincts, no one plays the middle 1/3rd better, and in my opinion is one of the top 3-4 or so defensive players in the NFL.

Personally, I'd rank Reed behind Troy Polamalu.

You know, it's really not THAT unlikely that he wins his 3rd MVP this year.

If he does, he needs to at least be in the discussion..

Re: Where Would You Rank Ed Reed Among The Best Players Of This Decade?

Sanders is a good safety, but the problem with him is he can't stay on the field. Every year it seems like he's out a couple of games with injuries. That's the main reason I wouldn't put him up with the likes of Reed, Polamalu, Adrian Wilson, and Kerry Rhodes.

If he was more durable then I would say he is an elite safety in the league. He may not be great in pass coverage, but that's not the role the Colts have him playing on D. Their run defense is terrible and they need to play him in the box a lot more to make plays in the run game.

He doesn't have near the coverage abilities that Reed, Polamalu, and Rhodes have though.
