I think they'd keep the starters in a half at best, try and keep him from getting it but pull them for the 2nd half.

Not worth risking the health of your defense for a silly record.

Re: Will Brees Get 402 Yards To Pass Marino?

You guys are right, but I think that Dan Marino doing it while on a Superbowl run and trying to win means more than the Saints doing it next week (where the win may very well be secondary to the record....).

They pass a lot, but we may see some SERIOUS attempts next week.

I said yes, I watch them often being in the NFC South and he can do it if they let him. Knowing Sean Payton, they will let him go for it.

It would be cool, but I don't see it happening. He might get to 5000 though.

I really don't want to see Drew Brees get the record because I don't like him, but as long as they beat the crap out of the Panthers I'd be cool with it.

I say he will not.

But regardless, Marino played in a league where DBs got away with mugging receivers down field.

There is no coincidence that the very year that the NFL decided to "enforce" the rules that DBs cant even breathe on a receiver, Manning gets the TD record.

I'd probably change my vote now simply because Carolina is still fighting for the #2 seed.

However, Brees might run for 402 against the Panthers.
