It's an average of the Top 5 salaries at the position right? If so, $14 million would seem about right.

You would think as a colts fan I would be happy but it takes away from the games with him out for the pats.

Highly doubt they'll franchise him. They'll either try to get him resigned at a discount or let him go. Hopefully the former - I am finally feeling comfortable with Cassel as the Pats' QB.

If he wants to stay he'll sign for a lot less. Hell even on the open FA market he'll sign for a lot less than the Franchise number.

I hope he's back next year. I'm not a fan of the Patriots, but I do like to see Tom Brady on the field.
