How bad does the defense have to get before they replace this guy. Most wanted him gone last year, and now again he HAS TO GO.
I really think Cowher is a prime candidate to replace Fox next season. Let's look @ the situation:

Carolina is going to have the toughest schedule in NFL history next year. 15 of 16 games will be against teams .500 or better. The 16th will be against one loss Buffalo. If jake is dismissed to create cap space to sign FA's, Gross & Pepp, there aren't many QB's available to replace him. Plus, Carolina was mighty fortunate w/injuries this year. Can't expect that 2 seasons in a row in the NFL. That means the Panthers are looking @ a rough year next season. If they miss the postseason, Fox could be gone.

You might consider Richardson's health as well. If he doesn't get past next year, there's a chance the Panthers will be under new ownership. They are going to want to make changes. So the GM will under fire as well. Both could go, which would give the Panthers an opportunity to woo Cowher.

It was a large part of the reason the Panthers lost, but it wasn't all of it.

The defense leaving Fitz uncovered all night had nothing to do with Jake.

The defense not pressuring Warner except on 2 or 3 drives had nothing to do with Jake.
