Re: Could San Diego release Tomlinson?

LT just needs a season off, and a change of scenery. That would do wonders for his health.

But i doubt he'd taken a season off.

I can see him getting traded. The chargers would approach him about renegotiating his contract, and say that are looking towards the future.

It will be a mutual recognition that the Chargers and LT will part ways.

Thats just how I see it.

Probably LT stays in sd for the next 6 years and i'm looking embarassed.

The Chargers traded the face of the franchise once before and it never came back to bite them. Fans flipped when Seau was dealt, but I much preferred watching him limp through his remaining years in another uniform.
you must have forgotten about Harrison then. Because that certainly bit them.

No I didn't forget Rodney, but he wasn't the face of the franchise at the time, Seau was.

The guy is acting as if franchise icons are somehow untouchables in today's NFL which couldn't be further from the truth.

I'll take a quote from your book: "Thank you for completely missing the point."
