I said it's HOW they're remembered, not judged.

Unfortunately you are probably the 10% that does remember a player for thier ENTIRE body of work.

For many its 'What have you done for me lately?'...OR... What did you do when you had your chance for glory.

I've been in the argument enough times to be able to speak from first-hand experience.

Ex. At a Redskins game wearing my #5 Black and Green, on more than one occasion 'discussing' franchise histories w/ Joe Smuckitelli the avg. Redskins fan, who then belittles my team for never winning a SB, and my QB for throwing up during his only appearance, so far.

If he (#5) / we (PHI) had a Superbowl W then maybe we could speak more specifically into 7 wins @ FedEx field over the last 9 years, but we don't and unfortunately...'LT' and 'greatest ever' in the same sentence shares this same fate, at least IMO.

Yet you have no hesitation in calling Payton or Sanders the "greatest ever"?

Sanders & LT I said were in the same book...

Payton is a cut-above because he went the distance, better team or not.

Which means what exactly?

Who's arguing?

Were merely 'discussing'.

You're the first person I've ever seen that has used playoff success as a barometer for greatness when it comes to RB's.

QB is the only position where this rings true. If it weren't for his three rings Troy Aikman wouldn't even sniff the Hall. However, I've never heard anyone say, "Yeah, Dickerson was good, but he never won a Super Bowl."

RB's are judged by their numbers plain and simple. They are judged by what they do over the long haul because history has shown that having a great RB doesn't mean postseason success.

So true poor Barry Sanders. RB are usually remember for their numbers. i mean there are team who won superbowl with avg RB at best, who sometimes put up very nice postseaon numbers and win ring why we dont remember them because they dont put hof type numbers that why.

But we will remeber avg at best QB who won superbowls. *cough aikman cough* just kidding.

LT of course everybody knows is declining. But don't release him, try to get draft picks. Look what that guys says if he is release he is a New England Patriot, i will gurantee it.

And did he get those 3 rings by having Emmit Smith's version of Darren Sproles getting all the carries?

Funny that you mention Aikman they way you do, and that you kind of discredit his success as a QB because he isn't the sexy Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, kind of the same way Walter Payton didn't put up the un-Godly numbers LT did.

However...look at who Troy's is RB was...who is one of the GOATS.

You contradict yourself because a lot/most of Troy's success was protocated on having Emmitt in the backfield for EVERY game/playoff game that Troy's Cowboys played in.

Barry, LT, Payton...there all among the same skill set, but one of those 3 is in a MUCH different class IMO.
