But you slot receiver gets paid 4mil a season, and you're backup LT gets paid 3 mil a season.

Coaches are already underappreciated. ANd coordinators even more so.

Until coordinator paychecks go up, they won't be elected to the hall.
No....coaching is the most overrated aspect of the game. Players make plays. That is how you win games.

No

Much like fullbacks, with as few people that make it, you can't justify a coordinator going over an actual head coach

So salary is a prerequisite for HOF consideration?

I don't understand how an OC/DC can make it in solely on thier OC/DC accolades.

A lot of these guys end up becoming HCs anyways...So where do you draw the line for Dick Lebeau to get in since he I guess basically invented the 3-4, but Jim Johnson...who didn't really invent a defensive set, but has some of the best blitzing schemes ever.

What is the criteria? I don't think there is one, and for that reason an OC/DC cannot make the hall.

IMO...A HC making the hall is basically like electing in all the coordinators and position coaches who he hired since they all were a part of his success.

Coordinators may have a spot in the Hall of "Let's Make Everyone Feel Good!", but the Hall of Fame should be reserved for the best of the best. Yes, coordinators have a major impact on the game, but a Hall of Fame coach should be able to be both a great coordinator and a great coach.

There are currently 21 coaches in the Hall of Fame, and Parcells, Dungy, Belichick, and Cowher are locks. Which coordinator do you put in over or with them?

It is the Hall of FAME and not the Hall of Recognition.

Great Post...Especially love this part (bolded)...Not much of an argument after that, IMO.
