Agreed. Without a doubt the two best defenses of all time.

Re: Top 10 Defenses of All-Time

I wasnt able to see the teams before the mid 80's play, but of the teams i saw and remember vividly, the 2000 Ravens were ridiculous, and its nice to see the 02 Bucs up there. Not a menacing, mean defense, but damn they were fast and they were great.

The 2000 Ravens broke the NFL record for fewest points allowed during a 16-game season (165) and fewest rushing yards allowed (970). Baltimore finished the season number one overall in both yards allowed, and more importantly, points allowed.....also, of course Baltimore beat the Titans in the playoffs that year thanks mostly to a dominant defensive game.
I agree that the 2000 Ravens had a better defense (points allowed is more important than yards), but the Titans defense was #1 overall in yards allowed.

I am not old enough to remember 76 Steelers but..

1. 85 Bears
2. Bud Carson Eagles defense
3. Ravens superbowl defense

Followed closely by the 2000 Ravens and then the 72 Dolphins.

I say the 1971 Minnesota Vikings but no one will give this group any love because no SuperBowl wins..

I'm there, even though the Steeler's great offensive balance gave their defense some help.
